Credentials / Qualifications

Q: Credentials of the coaches?

A: All the coaches have masters degree in either counselling or psychology, they are in the process of getting all the hours to get licensed as psychotherapists or clinical psychologists.

Q: What is X therapist's qualifications?

" Excellent Question! Our system will provide information regarding the qualifications of this specific therapist once I gather details about your location and reasons for consultation. Is it okay if I ask you a few questions? "

If the therapist does not match please inform the caller but provide alternatives as the system filters highly qualified therapist(s) that match the selection. Once you are at the therapists profile the first sentence is their license/credentials, and there is a blurb regarding what they specialize in. There is a bit more information on the step before choosing a time slot.

When someone inquiries what the difference is between therapist with social work credentials, psychology etc..

The answer that can be used when a client asks about differences in types of clinicians is:

“Although our professionals may have different titles and qualifications, they are all trained to provide psychotherapy services and treatment of mental health concerns.”

If potential client isn’t sure who to choose you may also say: “By identifying your reasons for consultation, we will be able to match you with a clinician that is best suited to meet your needs.”

Regarding Supervisors

The supervisor does not attend sessions, they simply meet with the therapist regularly to discuss the therapist’s cases and questions.

Additional Information

This would be a good phrase for the agents to use if people call for a specific issue, "we don't have any therapist that specialize in [x] but all our therapists are trained to treat the symptoms of [x]." And 'X' would be the 'reasons for consultation.' However, we do have therapists that specialize in certain things, but that's hard for agents to know.

Most people think Psychologists are better/more effective than psychotherapists. Let clients know that psychotherapists, social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists practice psychotherapy. The different designation is due to the type of schooling/training they did, but in fact psychotherapy is the modality that is used by all mental health professionals. The only big difference is psychiatrists are doctors and they can diagnose, whereas the others cannot.
