This is handled on a case-by-case basis:
If we already offer services in the client’s language, we promote that option (without a translator) – ex, Spanish. You can see this information on the therapist’s profile (See image)
If we do not, we suggest finding a therapist who speaks the language directly (e.g., through provincial Order websites or Psychology Today). This is often preferable since both language and cultural understanding can be important in therapy.
If the client is very interested in working with our clinic specifically, we can explore arranging a translator — again, this would be decided on a case-by-case basis.
You can explain this to the client. If they still wish to proceed with us, please:
Note the language they speak in the call notes
Transfer the call to the internal coordinator, who will match them with the most suitable therapist.
We want to make sure these clients are seen by experienced team members who are comfortable with the specific situation.
